Creative Director, Head of Design, and the long list of designations as we know, are passé. At Centrick, we think you either have a great sense of aesthetics or you don’t. Now, like Yash Chauhan, if you suffer from an obsessive-compulsive disorder, when it comes to alignment, size, type, flow, feel or even materials, ambience, lights or sound, it’s only natural that everything you touch is going to be simple, aesthetic and pleasing. That’s a look we love at Centrick and that’s why Yash Chauhan is our Head of Aesthetics.
Unlike conventional agencies, here talent is not slotted into boxes such as digital, print, packaging, motion or space. Here at Centrick, each one is multi-talented. No, we don’t hire “Jacks of all trades” and the likes. Here, we partner the curious, who explore different forms, methods and functions, making them masters of their craft. Here, Yash Chauhan serves as an inspiration, leading a team of enthusiastic talent whom he challenges, inspires, guides and nurtures.
He inspires and even collaborates across the borders of continents and culture. His most fun collaboration was with a Russian artist, Alexandra Ivanuik, to craft Cyrillic type based on the exchange of cultural insights. He sought inspiration from Tony Dispigna for a Spencerian type project, that led to them collaborating to create a logo for a tarot card reader. We bet she didn’t see that on the cards. He’s merged Arabic type with English type for a book cover. He’s also brought alive the theme “Catharsis” for a TEDx event.
Now, let’s take it completely out of whack. Ecole intuit.lab, our favourite design school, laid the foundation for his craft. At Centrick, he redesigned the identity and visual language for this closest competition from another continent.
